Hey guys, first time on. I just bought myself a 67 sunbeam and my first task is to swap out the 4 bolt pattern rotor for the mustang II rotor. My question is what year of mustang parts am I looking for and do I need spindle, rotor and caliper? Thanks for the input, this is my first birtish car . mike

Mike,

If you don't get your answer here then try the Sunbeam Owners club of America.

Mike,

Why are you switching to mustang rotors? I know they run the same bolt pattern, but are you looking for a performance advantage? Are your rotors to thin/damaged?

Well Michael the thought of me switching over is to cover my bases in a few things. First thing is I want to pull the 4 cylinder out for a v6 or 8. Second is a beefy brake system and last is a better selection of rims for a 5 bolt pattern rim. `Right now I have painted spokes and they not pretty.
While were talking I would like to ask you what you would do at the rearend for the swap. {looking at a 8 inch ford} mike

Mike,

Plenty of guys have done the V6 conversion and kept stock brakes on the front, and the tiger did use the alpine brakes (not saying great in the case of the tiger, but they did it) the V6 conversion doesnt add much in terms of weight. You could use the volvo 4 piston calipers on the stock rotors, or the m16 willwoods.

Dale A also offers a kit to bolt vented rotors onto the stock setup and calipers.. and also offer 2 upgarde kits of willwood vented rotoea and 4 pistons... 10.5 and 12 inch.

As for rear, most guys use a narrowed ford 8 inch, good selection on ratios.. the alpine unit is ok if you get some hardened woodruf keys (jim ellis has those)

If you are gogin V6 i strongly suggest you contact Jose Rodriguez about his V6 conversion kit... also read the SAOCA site, there is a whole forum dedicated to the v6 conversion.
