Five Tigers listed for Mecum next month:

T143.1 Green B9472600
F42 Red w louvres B9473614
F79 Red MkII (Chuck's?) B382100625
F154 Red B9473518
S181 Blue w stripe B9470925

Yup, nice car. Chuck and I went in 1/2sies on the spinners a few years back- I have a set just like them on my Tiger.

Some interesting cars on offer, the guiding ranges have come back a little more towards reality.

A few of them have been doing the rounds on eBay and Hemmings in the past year. It will be interesting to see how they go. The lot f42 car looks to be the one that fantasy junction had and had been on eBay.

I wonder if having so many at one auction hurts the price or generates a bit more awareness and interest

It's like fishing- keeping the good ones and throwing back the minnows

If it is the Fantasy Junction car I looked it over pretty well a few months ago - very nice car.

Reserve was $120,000 so Dana must have whispered in his ear to lower it.

Now former

Owner said it was stalled at 99,000 and the auction house said they'd take it without sellers fee's. I knew that car really well and had been under it several times. 1 st off it was a Polar White repainted a non factory color a Porsche red. 2 nd the wheel arches were cut a considerable amount. No big washer bottle .

When I first saw the car it had a machine engraved fill in the blank. The original was missing in the years of Tiger collection. When it was finally found there was a big sigh of relief. The reason was all the lettering had been wiped away. The pictures on another site show it buffed clean.
The car also had a different motor but visually correct as Paul R. became the person charged with pre sale spit n polish.

In summary it would have been a perfectly great car to enjoy but everything needed to be cosmetically gone over. The car did drive well considering it's 15 year old tires.
Considering what it was bought for it was a great toy that had a great upside. Ask me my real other thoughts off line.

Michael,

Had nothing to do with a market correct this car had too much metal work and was not that good and it sold for what it was worth. The market might be a little soft but this car is not in anyway an indicator of the market.

Moondoggie...right here in Carmel and I know good Tigers and I know the Tac inspectors that certified it

Bill, fair enough, but if you look at all the cars they were either soft sell or passed in. There have been shabbier cars in the past couple of years that "sold" for much more .. some very average mki's that went 100+ .

Don't get me wrong I think a bit of correction is good, otherwise they go ridiculously high and the cone back just as hard.

Michael,

I was at the Friday Night RM Auction and what I observed was that very few cars hit the range that the action had put in the sales literature. They usually sold for under the minimum figure. No where was the reserve listed so you don't know what that was so it's hard to say if we are in a correction. I have seen an article which stated sales were down 7% overall and one that said 56% at auction this week did not sell. If I compare last years cars to this years cars last years group was much better quality...
