Jalopnik article, about new cobras off old molds

That alone is interesting, as we have an old thread about "how would you rebuild a new / new old stock Tiger?"

But... I'm pretty darn curious about their motor source...

“We’re passionate about building the legacy cars exactly to the original specification,” said Alan Lubinsky, who bought AC Cars 20 years ago. “We’ve even managed to find a source of brand-new 260-cubic-inch V8s for this project — and I can assure you that wasn’t easy.”

Well hmm...

Actually did some 100℅ autentic cobra continuations of the 427 in the late 80's and early 90's alongside the mkiv. There have been tool room copies of the fia 289 cars from john Olson, AC and kirkham. Think hawk may have done some too.... The nos 260 is certainly a new variation on the theme... But apart from that I think nothing special over existing tool room copies.

Also iirc a German bought the AC name and started building mkvi cobra's with wider bodies uprated suspension and horror of horror. Chevy motors!

Illl stick to owning my tiger thanks... I'd have an alloy body kirkman 289 or fia if I could.. it not at the expense of my alpine and tiger

of the $670,000 needed... Otherwise, I'd be interested. Id settle for a new 260 though...
