Radiator shroud

During my dissasembly of my Tiger I noticed the fan shroud on the radiator is a one piece unit covering the top and both sides leaving the bottom section with no shroud. Is this normal or am I missing the bottom piece. The reading I have done on the cooling always mentions a complete shroud.

Sounds completely normal to me.
It should look like this.

Not sure what you have been reading, was it a magazine or book? The shroud pictured is stock. If you read the tiger cooling article on the tigersunited site they talk about making a closing peice for the bottom to assist the vacuum effect of the shroud/fan... but thats to improve on the stock setup.
 
I Thought It Looked Pretty Good

I saw the repo radiator shroud while attending STOC's 50th Anniversary of the Tiger celebration in Stratford-Upon-Avon, and I thought it looked pretty good. Mind you, I did not have an original shroud to hold up next to it, though.

FAN SHROUD

The Tiger/Alpine East Cooling project is posted on their website. They investigated a 360 degree shroud, which they modified/fabricated from a Ford Taurus.
On vaction last year I bought an issue of Street Rodder Magazine wherein was an article of making a custom shroud for a 32 Ford at at Stone's Metal Shop in Gardena Calif. (310) 851 9301.
 
Sunbeam Spares

The reason the shroud does not go further down is interference with the steering rack. Derek had ordered a shroud from the other S.S. listed in title. Sure he will chime in again as to its fit.

I believe Dale A sells one as well as Sunbeam Specialties. I have a stock one on both cars a thicker non stock radiator does not fit as well as a skinny one. Get out and pic them soon. There is room for lot of improvment on the stock style and hopefully a good add on that can modify the lower section but not look scabbed on.
