where will this go?

People are BAT s--- crazy

$37,250.00 plus 5 percent, plus shipping.

Crickets...

Needed Some Work, BUT

It needed to see the inside of the shop for a while. The bidding went above my guestimates.

BaT sold

Thinking that rather then start a another thread,

Look at this..

I had a car I put on Craigslist cross posted as a stories and it was Bash a Tiger. There was several reasons I desired a local sale. If anyone has a contract that they used be nice to see it. Be interesting to see how the contract can be enforced after a sale and BaT get's paid merely by charging the bidders credit card. More than one member has told me BaT's requirement on a low reserve, like they are the experts across all marques.

Done

I had been buying and selling certain old cars for decades. I volunteered for years to work for a buyer/seller of high end European cars, very high end, so that I could learn as he was very successful.

I now don't bother getting involved in any of it. I view Bring a Trailer and think "that people have lost their minds". The result is, it takes the fun out it.

I met a guy this weekend at a local C&C that told me the interest rates on housing loans are so low, he did a new loan on his home to have cash to buy a collector car.

After some thought and trying figure out the logic of that, I am perplexed.

Hyper inflated SoCal housing prices, inflated collector car prices and a low interest rates on hyper inflated housing. What could possibly go wrong...

Mike...absolutely nothing.... Apparently.... This is bubble part 2... per GFC of 2008... Just start printing money.... Then 10 yeara later when the asset bubble is ready to burst and a new correction arrives... Print more money ..... Then in 2030...

Gee Whizz

Well, while you're printing, I have this large empty suitcase here . . . . . . . .

I look at it more along the lines of:

Collector cars are being restored faster than new buyers are replacing those that leave the scene.

And/or the cars are starting to be a higher population than those that want them.:(

Agreed

But they will always be a market for E type Jaguar's. In my humble opinion this car isn't the poor man's cobra this is the poor man's E-type that you can work on yourself, most of the time.

Dan i would agree... But not on the broader market... Late 80s to early 00s collectors cars are surging ... That demographic is strong.... The 1960s and earlier collectors car market is shrinking along with the population that knew them as new cars when they were 10-25 year olds.....

The collector car market stays strongest at buyers who knew the cars when new.. Cars that are 20- 40 year old will be in demand when the buyers are low 30s to mid 50s....

High end stuff.. Ferraris, Porsche significant race cars etc will generally hold a premium... But forgotten marques and more humble cars lose out

Sadly i'm not the one printing it.... But will end up paying it off....

The downside about your luggage issue... The more they print the less its worth... So you'll need a bigger suitcase....

I thought the 240/260z is the poor mans etype ... And they are worth a bunch now too

I do like my Z. They did stop a few boats of British and German cars from ever crossing the pond back in the day. Sometimes hard to decide whether to take the Z or the Tiger for an errand around town. For longer trips up to the foothills, the Tiger is definitely a better driver and more fun, unless it's scorching hot weather. And I wouldn't want to get in a wreck in the Z, pretty thin materials.

Tough time

Besides for trying to figure out the over priced old vehicle market...

I'm having a near impossible attempt propagating my Australian Grevillea Long John bushes. Those Aussies don't want to cooperate :O

For someone like me looking to get back into the Tiger market it is a good thing. Bought my 1st one in the early 80's for $900 - where have those days gone? haha
