Hardtop trim

A friend in our old Sunbeam club told me about this trick. The stainless trim that surrounds the outer rubber of the hardtop rear window is only held in by the rubber. I noticed on the hardtop I sold the amount of trim exposed at the corners was scary. So with this hardtop the edges of the 2 sides have small holes drilled in them. After fitting I attach thin wire and tension it and bend the ends over so the covering stainless caps can fit. It will not come off.

Don't have that problem anymore. Somewhere out on the interstate lies the trims.

I have been advised that smaller wire is best so I am changing it to 0.050 stainless wire. That should allow the final cover piece to fit.
