My driver’s side door has an indentation where the mirror goes. Is this from the factory?

Your file didnt attach. However the factory had no body modifications for the fitment of mirrors.

They had optional mirrors and suggested locations to avoid interference with tonneau pegs.. But any indent/body mark is not factory

FYI,
The parts book shows 25 mirrors available as a special accessory. The door mirror on this car was an NOS Rootes item when I installed it a few decades ago. It's very similar to the reproduction Lucas style mirrors available thru Moss. I have the Rootes box for it and the box has the parts number tag intact.

Got the picture to work. It looks like it's supposed to be there. ???

It's nice work but I bet you still can barely see out of that location. Had lots of spare doors. And a car with like 10 holes for various mirror locations tried
:)

It's a factory hole for the mirror.

I don't plan on worrying about what's behind me...LOL

Such a cool design That’s one to keep for sure 👍
We bought the red LeMans in 1982. We have all receipts of everything done to it since new.

In 1961/1962 Rootes commissioned Harrington to convert 250 series 2 Alpines to this. The 250 cars were sold thru Rootes dealers only. There were three other styles of conversions done for other folks but they were not sold by Rootes. This photo is another of my wife's cars.. It's a right hand drive car and one of two RHD LeMans in the states. The mirrors on this car are difficult to use. And the hood was not latched when this photo was taken. Nor was the hatch. She had the white one at SUNI.

She also has another that according to Wally Swift was raced by the Rootes dealership in Silver Spring Md.

Tai, can see pic now... Soemone went to a lpt of effort...but not factory.

As a side note tour door appears to have the original side trim riverts...be careful fitting the stainless trim as the extra size of the paint may make them hard to fit or buldge the trims a little

Nope.. HRO and RRO cars in early alpines had clear indicator/parkers stock.
That may be true but there are so many cars with amber lenses. We attend several import swap meets every year and the supply of either used or new amber lenses is plentiful. They add a nice look to the cars.
