Wanted W/S glass part #

Rick from SS was at the TE/AE United in Canada and he and I were discussing Moss and the windshields. Rick has windshields in stock and ready for shipment.

Yes he does, and I bought one. However, it cost $595... If I could have bought them from Moss I would have had 5 instead of ONE.

We're seeing a thing called inflation so the price sounds about right. Every once in awhile I look at the Rootes dealer price books I have so when I get time I'll see what a windshield sold for in the 60's. I've mentioned before that the VB windshields were not the same thickness as others being sold so I'm sure Rick has them made to original specs. Moss will probably scrap everything since so much of the VB product that they haven't worked into inventory isn't up to their quality standards.

I suppose.... I was quoted $395 for the w/s. The additional $200 was crating and shipping, which seems kind of usury. Moss doesn't charge a crating fee for windshields... I just bought a w/s for a '68 Mini from them... less than $50 for shipping.

I had a VB w/s in the car... I wanted to replace it due to a poor repair from a rock chip... would have been plenty happy to have another VB w/s... Oh well, what other option did I have.....

Did it arrive unbroken? I've been around many truck docks and seen how the gorillas handle things so appreciate the packing.

yes... I now have enough Styrofoam peanuts to last a lifetime... Moss put the w/s in a large plastic back and then insulates it from the box with spray foam insulation....

United Parcel Smashers. All others trained by viewing the old Samsonite luggage commercial.
When I heard that they were available about the time STOA had their swap meet I almost drove up to collect one...
