Used a pair of metal repair 'caps' that slipped over bottom of front X member frame arms. Worked great but can not find or remember where I got them. I see several Tigers with these front X frame arm bottoms all dented/hammered up - like how did they do that? Info would be appreciated

Any suggestions would be appreciated
I just repaired bashed front "X" member legs!!! One looked like impact damage, the other was pretty obviously from some idiot with a bottle jack. The owner of the car asked if there was some way I could pull the damage out... Not a chance due to the gauge of the material.

As the car is on a rotisserie I just rotated the car 90 degrees, cut the bottom of the chassis legs out, fixed the sides and welded it back together. Once I dressed the welds you can't even tell I was ever there....

About 4 yrs ago, found repair 'caps' that just slipped over existing, welded on sides and they looked much better, easy install and double the sheet metal for strength sounded like a good thing at the time. So far no one else has posted anything - sure would like to find another pr. - thanks for your input

I'd be worried to some extent that you are creating a rust trap by having capping panels over the top of the cruciform legs
