I would appreciate it if someone would please tell me what sort of screws were originally used to connect the door hinges to the A-pillars on Tigers and, I presume, Alpines too. Was it large Philips head screws, or something else? My car is about to go under the gun (the paint gun, that is) and the body tech asked what the factory used. Thanks in advance.
 
Large Phillips head screws... are you attaching the hinges before paint.. if you paint then attach the hinges it can make the door gaps tighter at the rear of the door/B post.
 
That's what my car has. Thank goodness. The tech was surprised to see what he called "number three Philips head screws" holding the doors on. I don't thing the car has ever been apart, so it would have been bad news to hear it should have something different. The doors are coming off before paint. Thanks!
 
hardware

i have some original hinge screws that came out of one of my cars that have small ridges around the bevel part of the screw. they must have been intended to hold the screw to keep it from loosening.
