I've got the dash back in the Tiger with the ammeter I've added. All was working great until I shorted something out when messing with one of the hot wires coming off the ignition. Well, the ammeter acted like a big fuse and blew. The needle has disappeared. I'd like to repair/replace it, but thought about running an inline fuse to protect it. Questions:
1. What size fuse?
2. Would you run it on the "power in" wire coming from the starter relay or on the "power out" wire going to the voltage regulator?

Thanks,
Bill

I don't see any reason to fuse that particular run, but I do see a need to pay attention to the first line in every section of the shop manuals that start with "1st, Isolate the battery". See other threads about fire extinguishers. amen

Actually the gauge is fused by the fuse at pins 1 & 2 at the main fuse box.
You might want to check both of those fuses as they might be too big !!
You might have been very lucky to have blown the gauge since it takes allot
of amps to blow it.....

My car has a 9 pin fuse panel installed behind the wiper motor. I think it's not original. Didn't they only have like 2 fuses from the factory?

I'm starting to see a picture here....... Yes the prince of darkness just
put in two 35 amp fuses for the whole car. They would be located next to
the regulator in the engine compartment. I don't know what you have ???
