Which new servo from Victoria British?

Victoria British lists a Lockheed remote replacement servo kit for my Tiger 1A. Mine came with no servo/bypassed. They list the 5" as for my B3820000522. The 7" is the same price as the 5", $299. Will the 7" also fit my car but give me more stop with less effort? It surprises me to see these kits new for $300. I have seen, and almost bought, a rebuilt one on eBay for $600. I was about to upgrade to a smaller bore master cylinder when I found these @VB. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a Lockheed remote replacement servo from Sunbeam Specialties. It replaces either of the Girling servos. I am very happy with it as it works with no issues, unlike the Girling units.

I recommend you give Rick your business, not VB.

7" or OE 5" servo?

Thus far everything has come from Sunbeam Specialties. I had checked their cataloge earlier and only found rebuild kits listed. I'll give them a call before I make my decision. Will the 7" be an upgrade for my 1A or should I stick with the OE 5" servo?

Five or Seven

I have used both the 5" and the 7" Girlings in our MK 1A's and find the braking efforts about the same. Those customer cars that I've driven with the Lockheeds seem to have just a tad less power gain, but easily worth the money if you're not concerned about staying with original equipment. Ditto on giving SS the order (no affil, etc) Enjoy the fun, randy

The difference in pressure amounts to about 100 psi the 5" booster puts out
750 psi and the 7" 850 psi ( as I recall but I think they are accurate) You would find very little difference between the two with stock brakes as far as
foot feel on the brake pedal. If you go to a four piston or six piston caliper
you will feel the difference but the 5" booster works well with multi piston
calipers front and rear.

5" Servo ordered

I called Sunbeam Specialties and the servo was listed in a different format, (separate paragraph), and so I hadn't seen it listed before. They only sell the 5" because the 7" is physically too big for some cars. My 1A came w/5" so a new one is on it's way!---$298 Thanks for the advice guys.:)
