Wow! Big turnout of Members and friends for kickoff 2015. TRD Costa Mesa CA is where the 2015 Toyota NASCAR Sprint Cup engines are built and tested. An acre of tooling, dynos, clean rooms etc.

All five 2015 C.A.T. Officers and Board of Directors were present and we managed to get together for a photo before the Tour. Left to Right , Rick TigerBlue Treasurer Claudia Secretary, Mike President, Bob Director, , Warren Director, Buck T. V.P. and Director David who also is Editor TT.

TRD is working to get engines delivered to the Teams for Testing and Season opening race Daytona so things were busy with several employees working Saturday.

The V-8 engine spec of NASCAR is closer to a 57 Chevy than anything in a Toyota, Ford or Chevrolet today. What a challenge to build an engine to survive 500 miles of racing at over 9,000 rpm. The TRD Dynos are accurate enough to measure fractions of a H.P. They tweek things over and over to gain a couple HP.

Oh and we also had a Meeting after the Tour. Big thanks to Mike for arranging the Tour.

Great tour. Thanks Mike for setting it up. Only one disappointment. I took my Toyota Mr2 spyder to the meeting hoping to get a surprise transplant of one of the engines. When I got in to leave I still had the 150 horsepower sewing machine engine. bummer, Lee

add'l info

Meeting minutes will most likely be posted soon. We are still working on the new and improved features.

It is most interesting to me to get feedback from guys that are members of other sites. Most report on commercially run operations that are far from the best and pardon me in saying that a just right Goldielocks fix.
