$12K Tiger in Reading, PA

Looks like it's been sitting in the bottom of a lake for awhile. I like the snow on the valve cover.....or at least it looks like snow.

It runs he says,,

What on starting fluid? got to be a hard motor to kill. To bad it probably won't roll. DC you ever go see that ebay car close to you that did not meet the 10+ reserve? What a much nicer car that was.

I think that is peeling chrome and camera flash and not snow. I think this kitty's been cold for a long long time though.

A potential bidder called and asked what I thought it would take to "properly" restore the critter. My stock reply is that I never quote on rust, period. It takes what it takes to get a body back to where it belongs. All that long distance diagnosis will ever be is a wild & hopeful guess.

Pleeaease. What good is that as a value builder statement. "Numbers" that are not stamped on the body or cast on the engine?

Also looks to be a 4bl carb and manifold? Do they have correct numbers?

It does not appear to be worth anything even for parts!

part the car out on e bay and see how much money you pull in. it would easily pass the purchase price. I've seen a lot worse here in the rust belt.

Really

You should've seen the wreck that was 3 grand out here in Whittier.
It started at 14,000 I called went to see any way. After the dust settled it sold for 3000
It was hit on every corner but had a non op title all id tags and all but air cleaner.
We can't tell enough from the crappy low res Craigslist pics.
Everyone starts big game hunting or on a grand fishing expedition.
You have to kiss lots of toads these days.

Frankly, I added up the potential usable but unrestored components. Then subtracted the average man-hours for restoring them and came up with a negative value. But then, there will always be an optimist who will dive in and give it a go . . . .
