Chaps,
To finish off where Michael started, I recently went down this path to match the original trunk liners in my MK I.
After much research I could not find a new match for the correct OE black dyed tan masonite which is 3mm thick. It was however used as trunk lining material in the series I-III XJ6 Jaguar saloons, some of which must have made their way to the US.
The SIII used a large piece to line the underside of the trunk lid and I used two of these to replicate the original Tiger items, (side and rear pieces). Hard to find anything s/h that isn't unmarked as the Jag trunk area is very shallow and clearly some wealthy owners had no idea of how to close the lid "carefully"....
After using the repro plastic liner as a template and some judicious use of a jigsaw the result was items indistinguishable from the OE ones. All that leaves is to transfer the side brackets that support the false floor and you're done.
Hope that helps.
Cheers, Lance.
