1967 black tiger Russo and Steele Newport Beach

By doing that to the engine compartment, they have removed many halmarks of a real Tiger. Don't get me wrong, it can still be TACed.

Why?

Why spend that much money on a car, and not put in a new Dash pad? The car looks half done without it.

It would be interesting to see the details of the 5 speed installation. Looks like the shifter is smack in the middle of the structural cross member.

Hopefully they did the same with the welds in the boot.. and the trans tunnel to firewall and floor... and the brackets under the car... will remove all eveidence of the bad workmanship and sloppy process that jensen specialised in.... but also make it such a beautiful car....

How do you tell its a real tiger... just ask yourself would any self respecting body guy release a car like that from his shop.. if the answer is no.... ITS A TIGER!!

Could be that he used a T5 with a Mustang tail housing...

That takes a lot of cutting but there are a few out there...

Not my style to criticize another person's car. Looks to be a fairly well done driver tiger. Torque arm, posi, 5 speed, 289, roll bar. Body fairly nice not show. Missing small side moulding piece by the Tiger script and moulding under the grille. It is a reserve auction so probably will not sell. I will guess the seller wants 60ish for the car. I sold my Oldsmobile at this auction last year. Most of the reserve cars did not sell. I will see it again tomorrow when I visit the auction. It is one mile from my house. Lee

Thanks for posting, Lee. I'm always interested in seeing other Tigers, including those for sale, and what their owners have done to/with them.

20 bucks

For admission, stinks. But everything is more expensive in Newport Beach...

More on the Black tiger to be auctioned on Saturday. I looked today and it didn't have a TAC sticker. The cars are not selling that have a reserve so I expect the Tiger will be a no sale. I posted the vin tag but will defer to the experts on it. Lee

CAT Frame

Maybe he is the guy who bought the 6 or 8 dollar lic.plate frames for big bucks.
That is if he is not a non returning member.
Take more pics tomorrow.

???

California State Sales Tax is 7.5% but can be as much as 10% depending on locality.

Great climate for Tigering. Not going to move or get into politics. But I would take it into account when buying. And let the seller know he should accept a lower price if he was in a 10 percent locality.

Yes Boss

I only mention it as it is a part of the total cost. Just something to consider. I asked Lee the question as I did not know if his earlier post included it.
If I want to bend a political ear I go to Alpine site.

Rick.....

The auction houses charge 10% to cover their costs of advertising and showing the car so it's a cost of doing business. State sales tax we pay for just about everything and Brown probably would like 20% !!! State sells tax has nothing to with the cost of a seller selling a car so why would he even consider
reducing the sale price...I wouldn't unless I have the car priced too high.
