Are these the spindles that work to lower the front of a Tiger? I have a chance to buy them--curious if they work and what they are worth. thanks.

Yes those are the ones !!! I had a set on my Tiger before I went with Dale's front end. They are worth somewhere around $500 / set. They will lower the front about 3/4"

great--thanks. I read somewhere that either the Minx or SuperMinx were the same as Alpine units and the other was lowered. I will follow through with this guy and see if we can make a deal.

Nope !! I sold those spindles to Bill aka 'Moondoggie' and they are NOT from a Super Minx! The Super Minx spindles are the same as an Alpine actually... and the ones you need are from a somewhat later model Minx. Another strange thing is that as far as I know, ALL Minxes/Super Minxes sold in the U.S. have 'Alpine spindles!
I've only been able to source the correct ones from here ( Canada ), New Zealand, U.K. and Australia.
I have one 'extra' set here... and the last 2 sets I sold were somewhat more than Bill's quote ( as were his )... they lower the front 7/8" . I think we've covered this in more detail on earlier threads actually. Do a search...
If you want some pics of the difference for reference, Bruce, I can send them...along with more detail of exactly what they came on

I've done that very mod, and it is certainly worth the effort. Allows the use of a fuller spring without the need to chop them down to get the desired ride height.

If look at my pic below, apart from the obvious positioning of the spindle, there is an angled piece of ironwork at the bottom where the balljoint sits. That'll be a good reference point to look for when rummaging through autojumbles.

Also, you can fit wider front alloys as the rim/tire no longer catches on the top ball joint, allowing the use of wider tyres. That's the next stage for me ;)

Great

I had read the Super Minx was included in the list. Glad to know it's the Aussie Version only. That's what I get for reading posts from Aussie's and assuming they were same car:) This fella was selling his convertible in Los Alamitos six months ago and I was to look at it for a Alpine guy but found him flaky and not able to meet up at reasonable times when I could come by, kind of strange for somebody who wants to sell a car. One of our adm's has a set laying about as they mentioned it to me.
