That car sold at Barrett Jackson earlier this year for more than the Buy it Now price that it's on eBay for...

Honest Description
I thought the seller did a pretty good job of describing the car and its condition, for someone who is not real knowledgeable about Tigers. The interior has been customized quite a bit. This is the first time I have seen photos of a carpeted trunk. In a photo there was some large screw shown near the front hanger for the rear spring - maybe it was part of the lift? I wonder when the California Replacement VIN number was attached. The seller indicates that the car was TAC'ed, but that was when it was white, not yellow. If the TAC sticker is no longer there, that might be a red flag. I thought the seller did his or her best to post a lot of photographs of different parts of the car - a much more thorough job that what we normally see on eBay listings. This is probably not too bad a price IF it is still a Tiger. Most of the modifications can be easily undone if someone wants a more stock looking car.

No A (or B, C, D, E, etc.)
It looks like they left off all of the letters, and kept only the digits (numbers).

Assigned DMV tags: have the LRXFE OR whatever it comes with on Alpine left off as well .
From a survey of the 2 I have now seen .
The car had a title in Arizona , I'm guessing . A for the guess would be he went to the DMV to get it registered . They looked at the car found it had no body number and decided to give it one, that was secured.
The Alpine I speak of had the same DMV issued number came in to California on a bill of sale only.

Down the road I will be in the market for a MKII. I know what they are getting these days so I can imagine that it would be very tempting to pass one off as...
My dad had one and sold it in the late 80's for around $6k. I'm trying to find one that is ready to go or may need some work. I just don't want to get duped.

There Was Little to No Consistancy
Here in California, the dealers could put just about anything on the title when the car was sold. My Mk II (I was told in 1970 that I was the 3rd owner) was originally registered here in California as a 1968, first sold in 1967. That is what the pink slip said. According to my VIN, my car came off the assembly line on December 30, 1966. So go figure!
