this is a rare car (hybrid) built in Australia in the '80's, its a Giocattolo.

They took an Alfa Sud sprint and fit a modified 5 liter Holden V8 mid mounted.

seems that in dedication to our fellow Hp jnkie.. they registered it fo him.. of have you come down under Samouce?

Very nice and with that licence plate, it must be fast!

Now that Holden 5.0L V8 engine only makes 243 HP (respectable for a Chebby engine) and is 211 HP less than my 347 (5.7L). I feel that the Tiger would be much faster.

Put some MSD on that Chebby and you may get more HP out of it.

I'll trade my Tiger straight up for the DB5 (6?) on the left.

Duke, was a DB5.. quite a nice one too.

On the 243bhp.. that was with the base HSV spec on 8.4:1 compression.. as with anyone who bought a car liek that.. or indeed bought one later.. they are not adverse to warming them up.. and there was plenty of power to be had out of the old Holden lump.

You also have to remember how light a car it went into.. if you read the Wikipedia entry they talk about the 007 chassis (not the bond aston) being crashed at eastern creek in 2001.. i remember that on TV.. he was doing a 1/4 mile and something went wrong and the car just continued on and slammed into a wall head first.. horrible stuff.

Indeed you are right.. DB4.. later one .. was a very nice car.

As for cars i would take home.. the Octo Vou would be very tempting... or the birdcage.. or the little zagato bodied abarth.. or the DB4GTZ replica....
 
Radical Engine Swaps

One of my favorite daily drivers and open track cars was a 1989 Taurus SHO. The Yamaha designed V6 3.0 was sweet and durable as well. In my humble opinion the best looking package under any hood ever. This was before manufacturers gave up on engine appearance and just covered them in plastic.

Chuck Beck took an early Fiesta and converted it to the rear engined SHOGUN. Son of Jerry Titus and racer in his own right Rick Titus put the SHOGUN into limited production.
