I went the recore route too. Only radiator shop was across state line. Was surprised how clogged it was so it wasn't really a choice. Added a gano filter to the top radiator hose. Still catching some bits of scale, glass beads and stuff even after flushing the block and heater core.I have found an old school radiator shop here in the L.A. area that is going to recore my original with a dimpled core. There are far fewer radiator shops in general and finding one that does recores is even more difficult, probably due to the throw away nature of modern radiators with plastic tanks. The process is not cheap, close to the cost of a new Griffin from Summit Racing but I am happy about this direction. I am getting the radiator back unpainted and will paint it myself with Eastwood radiator paint which is supposed to be more efficient for heat dissipation.

Eastwood says most radiators require two cans of their special paint so that's what I bought. One can was plenty to do several light coats.
The shop that did the re-core is Gardena Radiator 722 W Gardena Bl, Gardena. There were several clean vintage cars in the shop so I figured I had found the right place, especially considering the lack of options nowadays.
Cost was $580
