another air cleaner housing thread

Hood clearance?

Always a potential issue on a Tiger without raised fins above the top plate!

It is a bargain if you consider price per pound for ours and comes with an air filter too. Lee

Gonna needa bigga scoopa to get that thing to fit under ...!

Looks like it's meant to mount north-south as the fins are tapered...

Ha ha very funny

Bob and others, everyone knows scrap aluminium is only about 65 cents a pound, This would look great on my Ranchero. I saw a real wicked one for a with a mini scoop at a flea market but 200 bucks but that was way too steep.

You may have noticed that the auction that Rick has posted for the other reproduction metal air cleaner (not the cool finned ones) has been completed. If you want to get on the list please send me a PM. We will soon complete the sale of our first allotment of 30 due to be received by us in about 1 1/2 weeks and before Monterey. If you are attending that show I will be bringing all the orders in my car. Thanks Lee

I plan to take some of the reproduction air cleaners to Monterey for the STOA members to view and maybe a few of the 60-100 Tiger owners will want to take delivery with no shipping or tax. This is the official first run of 30 air cleaners. If you are on my list and wish to get one in Monterey please let me know. Thanks Lee

I picked up the 30 reproduction air cleaners today and wrote a big check to the person that helped produce them.........this thing is finally real. They look great! Now I hope we can fill a need for a few of you that have been waiting for a correct (reproduction) air cleaner. Lee

Air cleaner housing

Count me in. Thank you for the time effort and investment in this project. Bill

I am sure once these are out there will be another thread on the correct color for the air cleaners. I used Rust-O-leum hammered silver and was pleased with the turnout.

That is the first proof--it had to be tweaked after this one. It's actually on the hood of my Shelby. :)

Got a case of jet lag? I thought you'd be down on the K n N filters, don't you use them for traction? Glad you're back:)

I have seen the estimates for CFM and ratings for their filters, but not paper ones. If you'd like to custom section a top for extra flow made of paper I think that would be cool.

A fella told me he threw his away 30 years ago as it did not breathe well enough paper filter and housing alike. What's your take on the paper filters. I do like their look better but they are too tall for my hood.
