Another ebay Tiger

Milking the Shelby connection

Exaggerating the amount and source of Shelby bloodline again. Pumping Tigers for sale results in some outlandish claims:

"1 of 2706 built, Sunbeam Tigers were the car that Shelby was playing with before he got the contract with AC Cobra."

Exasperating!

Nice looking car though.

Seats etc

Why bother changing them if you dont put in a headrest?
Nice wire wheel on the tags, can you spell DOH.

Looks to be a nice car , love the vinyl on the hard top talk about period correct.
There was a Alpine roller in Ojai for 2500.00 with the F/G textured hardtop complete with portholes, maybe a little too period correct. Complete with at least 25lbs or rat droppings. Would have put on the top if they accepted my 1500 offer, just for fun.

With so many going directly to Ebay maybe the club should consider a for sale section for a nominal fee for non members.

I like how "tigers were the cars shelby was playing with before he got the ocntract with AC"... so.. how was Ian Garrard inspired by the cobra? Shamelss shelby link an just WRONG!
On the seats, they look like the Richfeild ones, replicas of the ones used in the Ac Ace an then cobra.. I can see the point of replacing the seats.. he might have been missing them or the originals were wrecked and these look period correct... I dont get what they have done with the soft top cover.

..."1 of 2706 built, "...

That's true actually ... there were only 2706 MK1A's !

If you had a MKII would you say 1 of 536?? or 1 of 7085?? ;)

Kinda like saying 1 of 607,568 '66 model Mustangs...
Hmmm...That means there were almost as many '66 Mustangs built per working DAY as the whole MK1A production !!

michael,
it looks like the top boot cover is removable and they don't know how to properly fold the top frame. i don't see where the front of the boot is secured. you would think it would raise up while driving.

eBay Tiger

Nice looking color combination - about what I have in mind for my MKI currently being assembled. Anyone have an idea what alternator bracket that is? Going to need one for my car and that one has a nice "factory" look. I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure those valve covers are on backwards!

"95" Mustang alt bracket works great. Just remove the belt tensioner. OR, I'm fairly sure that Rick at SS has something correct . . . . .

The soft top cover uses the correct SV/IA location studs on the rear.. but they have not installed zippers and have press studs retaining it around where the cover should be sealed i behind the padded roll.. This has been done as a completely removeable cover.. for gosh only knows what reason given they are availble from suppliers and are not that much harder to make correctly over what they have done... :(

tiger top boot

looking at the view from the back it's hard to see the snaps. it also covers part of the B post. the zippers are a pain to start with. i do like having the top storage area covered when the top is up. you couldn't do it with this setup. the last two covers we bought have thin cardboard sewn in to help it lay flat and not sag when the top is up. i've seen others that did the same. this is another case where the owner did it his way. this is a nice looking tiger.
