Any tricks? Hardtop rubber

As long as I was ordering from SS, and winter is coming I thought I would replace the rubber on the hardtop. I'm having a bit of difficulty installing the piece that goes across the top between the top and windshield.....any tricks to this?

Also, with regard to the rear corner pads, I see that they need to be trimmed because I have a 1 piece bottom seal ("U" shaped)...is there a pattern or correct way to cut it...or just eyeball it?

I am not sure if there is a trick to the rear rubber/corner pieces but I just eye balled them and all turned out well. One thing I did notice is that with all new rubber it was hard to get the hard top to go into the little holes on the trunk hinges--the top was too tall, had to wedge it in then lay it forward. The latches are pretty tight but I am sure it's water tight.

Re the hardtop to winsheild rubber, I have just carried out this procedure and there was quite a bit of course language involved. Firstly attach one corner with the self tapper screw, then twist the rubber so the front lip of the rubber engages in the front of the steel channel. To do this the front flap of rubber that covers the front of the roof is on the inside of the hardtop, It is pulled out into its finished position once the rear peice of the moulding is worked into the channel. I worked it in with a small blunt putty knihe, a small section at a time. Once it is engaged with the channel, give it a tap with the handle of whatever instrument you are using to settle it right down into place. If you pull on it once you think it is properly located it will be quite firm. Good luck.
