Auctions America this weekend

The Mk II had been posted on Ebay a few months back, but auction was ended early.

Where's the beef?

I mean results...... inquiring minds want to know especially those thinking of selling a car...

Warren , the bidding on the MK2 shot up pretty quick and then just kinda stalled , the auctioneer tried to pump up teh sale by reading a pre printed script , you could tell he was not too familiar with Tigers , I think everyone was sort of waiting for the numbers to take back off , seemed to me once they hit the 130 it ended quickly . IMHO if it had been on the block a bit longer I think it would have gone up more . Something tells me we will see that car again soon .

not as frothy

as Monterrey, but Saturday's 1A (lot 4109) went for $100k plus buyer's premium. It had people all over it on the block with multiple bidders. Sunday's (lot 7049) went for $62,500 + premium. It just kind of limped up to the selling price. May have been the condition; may have been the day/placement. Probably a little of both.

Thanks for posting that! I was busy all weekend and didn't manage to see any of the auctions online :( They haven't updated their site yet and I couldn't find out anything about it at all...

Blinking light

What Jim do you still have the blinking 12:00 on your VCR ....:D

Wish I would have hit the DVR programming. Where were all our spies?
Clearly someone thought the car got an A at the end of its name it must be better.

At that price difference could have bought a round of drinks for all the close participants and ginned up the crowd better:cool:

Got to ask the tax guy someday what's the long term capital gains tax rate on cars, bet Uncle Sam will be happy..

No TV coverage in BFBC ... :(

Only hope would have been 'live' streaming on the interweb

I keep an old VCR hooked up to watch the SUNI 1 tapes...

We can 'personally' buy/sell about 6 cars per year around here with no tax issues... after that, the Guvmint comes knockin' ...

Jim: There is a difference between selling multiple cars and becoming a dealer in the eyes of the dmv and the tax man. The government is entitled to taxes when you sell art and other objects which fall into that category. I am not a tax man but the tax man came when I sold my Oldsmobile 442 reached into my pocket and took a portion. In theory when you have an investment quality car it is an investment. Most people flip and sell cars collector cars without reporting gains and that is the norm not the exception. Lee
