The E-type uses a different, smaller diameter, yellow stripe hose for the reservoirs to the master, the actual servo vacuum hose is a cotton woven cover which is all black. I've bought the stuff for the Cortina from a guy in the UK off Ebay. He also has the non return valve for the Mk1a and Mk2 (same as Big Healey and Aston Martin) and the metal vacuum booster pipes for the Mk1a and MK2. Stage1 motorsports.

What was the booster hose like? Accurate or close ?
well.... close! They work from 15 ft or so! Original hoses have an obvious textured finish. There are variants of the hose as well... Early hoses have a single yellow stripe that is painted (or dyed) on the surface. Later hoses have 2 stripes... one which is yellow and the other is brown(ish). Land Rovers and Healeys used the same hose. In fact, I bought 20 of these hoses from a vendor in Cypress who was a Landie dealer.... She had no idea what else they were used on and I bought them quite cheaply.... The ones she had were 12 inches long and only suited for the later MK1a and all of the MK2's. I don't think I paid more than $15 a piece for the hoses.... Needless to say, they went for a lot more. The supply is long exhausted...

The hoses supplied by stage1motorsports are smooth with no texture and the yellow stripe is not painted, but an insert... the appearance is nothing like the original.

I have been looking for an accurate hose for nearly 40 years... The big Healey uses a hose like this for the MK3 that is over 3 ft long.... The Aston Martin DB5 and DB6 use shorter segments like the MK1a and MK2 Tiger

That's why I asked...I have seen the smooth yellow striped modern hose, there was one that had a texture on eBay UK for a while but was quite a course texture like the herringbone style on the original heater hose.. so still not right.. and iirc were not rated for vacuum but just a fluid hose.

I'm surprised if for Healey it hasn't been repro.

What about the guys at the Healey Factory in Melbourne... What are they using?

I have no idea.... what with the values of the finished cars dropping and the general cheapness of Brit car owners, I doubt there is much incentive to replicate the hose... As I said, I have been looking for an accurate repro of the hose for over 40 years... I guess I am one of those rare people who really don't give a crap how much parts cost, if they are correct... The current Aston Martin DB5 project uses multiple lengths of the same hose as it uses 2 of the 7" Mk2a Girling boosters boosters....
