Brake hoses

While under the car bleeding the brakes, I notices a pinhole streem of brake fluid coming from one of the front brake hoses when the pedel was depressed. Is this a specialty item or available from Napa/Autozone/Pep Boys?

Pep Boys conversation went something like this...
Hi, I need a brake hose for a 65 Sunbeam Tiger.
What year is the car?
1965
What is the manufacture?
Sunbeam
Who makes the car?
Sunbeam
Not the model...the company...
Sunbeam
We don't have anything like that in our system.

Just wondering (based on the above conversation) if there is a cross referance to parts that may be used on other cars...I have something like that for the Jensen Interceptors as they used parts from Jag, AMC, Astins, Rolls etc...and since Jensen was contracted to build for Sunbeam it got me thinking...

How about a "what kind of car, "Sunbeam" don't they make electric blankets and toasters?


The hoses seem to be a std. length but getting the right thread on the fittings, good luck. replace the steel part of the brake line while you are there as they come off, but do not want to go back on or vice versa.

In LA there are a few non chain style auto parts stores but they are closer to the seedy downtown areas.

What would go a long would be if everyone posted a part number from a every part that we try to replace. Some of the old P/N's do not seem to be good matches any more radiator hoses picked from SAOC. TEAE groups and the Team.net e mail list archives.

In Pep boys defense they had a nice Bosch water pump for cheap, it was special order and inexpensive looks okay but is made in China... that was easy as they can find parts for a Ford.

the brake hoses would fit with no problem. all the items he sells are part of buy outs or left over stock from somewhere. and he does research to make sure they fit what he says. or you could call up sunbeam specialties and order new ones.
 
Assuming you're a member of CAT, get a set of stainless brake hoses from the website here...I just put did them on my car- perfect fit, no leaks.

Did these come with the above ref "crush washers" and all required tor installation?

Also, are the 3 hoses that come in a set all that are needed for the car?

It is almost funny, how we have the same questions, except I shook out my Sunbeam Spec. order thinking WHAT only 3!! then I nearly called then to ask what's up, but went for a limbo under the car. 2 for the front and one for the back. When you get under there you will see, I hear this was a common English brake line running style, well maybe not on a Triumph TR4 IRS.
 
I guess I wasn't thinking when i questioned the quantity of hoses...I was just under the car and I believe there are only 3 brake bleeds as well -2 front and 1 rear left IIRC
