CAT/CHP Xmas Toy Drive Is On -- Put It On Your Calendar . . .
Come, join us for the annual CAT/CHP Christmas Toy Drive. A great event to provide toys for needy children, while having a great time with your Tiger or Alpine, and enjoying rides and games at SpeedZone.
This year Chris Thoman and Jere Teepen are setting up a fun run for the Tigers/Alpines prior to our delivering toys at SpeedZone. So decorate you car, load your toys, and prepare for a great day.
SpeedZone will give out a $5 ride pass for every toy you deliver ($10 value or more), and will provide a great ride package for the person(s) delivering the most toys. There will be lots of “play time” at SpeedZone as well as the December CAT elections meeting.

Toy drive date: Saturday, December 8th

Meet time for “fun run”: 0845-0915, run to start at 0930

Meet location for “fun run”: Quad at Whitter Starbucks
13502 Whittier Bl, Whittier (corner of Whittier Bl./Painter Av., entering from first street E/of Painter will put you right at the Starbucks)

Start of toy drive at SpeedZone: about 1130
SpeedZone, City of Industry 17871 Castleton Av., City of Industry (East on 60 fwy, exit Azusa Av. Go south to Colima Rd., east to Stoner Creek. Turn left on Stoner Creek straight into SpeedZone parking lot) Tigers/Alpines will be parked inside the SpeedZone as space permits, non-Rootes vehicles will park outside in the general parking.

Photos #1

Unfortunately, the sun did not cooperate and hid most of the morning. While it was not terribly cold, it was overcast and gray, but we still had a blast driving the cruise to SpeedZone, seeing the pile of toys we donated, and holding the meeting next to the go-kart track. Here are some photos.

More pics from the Toy Drive

My excuse for not getting these pictures up right away was? No need. You may have seen the photo of Bonnie and I with the TIGER (real live) in Thailand?

Looking at the weather that morning I opted to take the Infiniti rather than the Tiger. No rain but low clouds and a little misting had dampened the roads over the hills between Whittier and the SpeedZone in City of Industry. Talk about a slick (road) track!

A good cause and it does not hurt to make some CHP friends if only once a year.

Merry Xmas & Happy New Year too.

Rick

Great pics--I sure miss these events living so far away, might have to get a 2nd home in SoCal.:)
