does anyone have a picture of the correct mounting of the ground cable that run to frame/engine. thanks

I believe there are cables on both driver's and passenger's side. Which side are you asking about? As I recall, both are bare woven cables like the ground for the battery in the trunk.

ground

I have only one cable and I think it was mounted on drivers side near the slave cylinder

I cannot get a camera pic since the header collector end is in the way. Maybe a word pic will do.

There is a raised rectangular plate welded to the body that has 4 nuts tack welded to the back side at the corners. One end of the ground strap attaches at the forward, outboard nut hole. The other end attaches to the clutch slave cylinder bracket using the lower slave cylinder mounting bolt.

Hope that helps.:)

Mine is grounded at passenger side front. heavy cable (welding leed) maybe not correct but works GR-R-REAT!!:)

Ditto and don't forget that the slave connection uses a brass nut & washer on the cable for corrosion resistant contact. 5/16" fine thread

I added a battery cable ground low on the frame to the engine when I was having ground issues--works great.

Randy,

Thanks for the reminder about the brass washer and nut. I probably have not had them on my car for quite a few decades, given the numerous slave cylinder rebuilds. Just got another set. :)

close ups

sorry, the angle is tough... but hope it might clarify.

Chassis ground on drivers side of clutch slave lever / pin. braided copper as stated.

I did not take picture of other termination and therefore have no idea. My cataloging is slipping...
