I have 3.31 rear end gears in my Tiger and I'd like to swap back to stock 2.88 gears or get 2.72 gears if available. Does anyone know of a shop in the Los Angeles area that does that type of work, especially on Tigers?

Call jere teepen( tac inspector) he has an rearend spec in your area-I can't remember the shops name- My guy at rivercity differentials has done over 6 of them-Bryan

Dana 44 2.72/2.73 gears came out of 1980s Jeep (Grand) Cherokees and early C3 Corvettes. I have the 2.72 gears in my Tiger.

If you do go with 2.72 or 2.88 gears, you should have a wide ratio transmission with the low 2.78 first gear. With the close ratio tranny the 2.32 first gear is a dog. I personally have the 2.90 first gear. Makes for a fabulous hole shot.

If I recall the conversation with you, this is better than changing ring and pinion because it still leaves a decent highway gearing. Do you have other gears besides first changed or does this "reach" other close ratio gears.
