Maybe

I believe some of the Series V Alpines did come with the non-hooded headlight trim rings, so those would count. But I have also seen quite a few Series V with hooded headlight rings, too. I believe the non-hooded rims were used on the Series V from B395017900 and on wards, if I am interpreting the Alpine Parts manual correctly.

The very late SV Alpines used the non peaked/hooded rims.

The rims were painted on the alpines and tigers. However the parts date from earlier, they appeared in chrome on the '59 husky wagon and the Si singer gazelle. They also were offered via dealers and it was mcoon to see them fitted to period race cars in SII production.

Ironically the alpine LM racers and the LM tigers used standard round lucas rims leaving the tops of the guards exposed... the rally tigers occasionally used the chomre non-peaked.

I have some NOS non peaks, both in red primer and chrome.. they have the same part numbers.

Non peaked hooded? I'm not sure I've noticed the other round ones either. Pics would be cool, if you can.

Peaked

Are the MK2 style ones not quite round like on your car now. Hooded= Eyebrows ones in your trunk.

Warren:

He said hooded, non peaked. The standard I have always seen is hooded with a slight point. He made it sound like they had no point is all. And the MkII like yours and on my car are non hooded and peaked (or come to a point). So I'm just not sure I ever saw round ones.

I'm not a fan of MkII style because they remind me of a VW Bug. So round ones would probably be worse for me.

I think the point is that you can put non-peaked/non-hooded rings/bezels on a Tiger or Alpine and it just looks wrong... You see these on eBay fairly often. When fitted, there is an area of exposed fender peak that the round ring won't mate to.

the peaked/hooded ones are nice, but some (myself included) like the look of the MkII style that, as Michael pointed out, were available on a few other cars.
