Wanted Does anyone have or know of repo black plastic dash switch flip handles

Not sure what to call them but I have several dash switch black plastic toggle handles have dis-colored probably from sun exposure . I tried trim black which does work great initially but is not a permanent fix. I also have a switch that has black plastic broken. Has anyone reproduced or know a source to replace just the black plastic part off dash switch's - seems like they would glue on easily with todays adhesives plus put life back into tired looking switches. I know switches are not that expensive but would like to keep what came with the car if an option (they all still work, just seen better days).
 
They can be taken apart, but it's kind of a pain. The new Chinese Lucas copies are crap, that's agreed... Best to look for old NOS complete switches. All but the panel light switch are shared with TONS of other Brit cars... like Big Healey for one. The 2 position panel light switches use a carbon resistor to "dim" the panel lights. The only thing unique about the switches is the retaining nut which is different to account for the thickness of the wood dash.

I have an assortment of original date coded switches with nice toggles... what do you need?

Didnt realise that the panel switch has a dimmer. Thank you. As I have an assortment of extra Lucas switches, I'll swap mine out and hopefully be able to have more than just candle power illumination through the dash
 
There's a bumper sticker that has been sold for many decades. It shows a Lucas switch and the words dim, flicker and off. I have wired the panel lights on my later Alpines so there's only two positions. Off or on. You don't have to jiggle the switch to make the lights work. My Harringtons have the first position on the panel switch turning on the panel lights. The second position turns on the map light over the cubby box due to the light not having a switch as part of the lamp. It was originally set up that way on all three cars. I pulled out a medium flat rate box that has many switches from parts cars and other reasons and only found two that have a date code of 10 67. Everything else is Lucas and must have been over the counter Lucas replacements.

Rick @ Sunbeam Specialties had this dash made for us and it has recesses in the back of the

dash so there is no need for a different switch nut.

You are implying that the setting you have is the dimmer... It's likely you have the brighter setting.. and are missing the dimmer version 🫢

Not mismatched switches. Just a photo showing the switches that Ian supplied with the car prior to shipping the project to Bill A. in Ca. The photo was taken with a camera with the Kodak name, bought at Walmart and made in Myanmar. The switch nuts are not mismatched. They're all bright chrome as are the chrome parts of the switches. The clock surround also looks odd in this photo but it had undergone a restoration by LiBrandi's. The flash must have been triggered. Al from here in Ohio said to tell you HI!

Is this from a later Tiger that does not have a chrome and black surround around the heater controls ?

This is a dash that Rick @ SS had made for my wife's RHD Harrington LeMans. It did not have a surround for the heater controls. It was patterened using the original dash which had a formica wood grain covering applied over the plastic dash. It has the chrome knob heater controls used on early series 4 Alpines and I believe early Tigers. The font of the lettering is also different than the lettering used on Tigers or Alpines. The heater controls can be seen in this photo of the early trial fitment of interior items. I just showed some variations of the period as far as switches.

Rick had a person in California that made them. This is one that he made. Rick and I were talking when we were in Canada this past September and he said his guy retired. Isn't there someone in the northeast that still makes them?
 
There ius a company in California called Madera Concepts who has done Sunbeam dashes. Have never seen their product, nor dealt with them, but their web site shows beautiful work.
 
Got my dash from Alpine Innovations in the UK. Jerome was easy to work with and shipped fast. you can get it with or without a glove box door
