Door Handle covers

I'm looking for the covers that go over the door locks (duck covers?). Need the covers and spring. If you have old handles I can take these off, I'll consider these as well.

How do you attach the springs?

Just so happens I have a right door handle on my desk that needs the lock cover attached. I have been trying to figure out how to install the retainer spring for the cover. I have the handle, the lock cover and the spring but lack knowledge on how to assemble. Can anyone help?

Clockwise or anti-clockwise (left or right) Spring must match correct twist and best twisted in with a dental pick.
 
left & right door lock spring?

I was suspecting that the spring that I have trying to install "might" have been the wrong twist. It seemed uncommon that for the correct tension, the spring would radially expand rather than contract. Plus my spring kept popping out after insertion. I guess I'll have to find a spring for the right hand door.
