Electrical Problem

I installed an new starter, starter solenoid and battery and have no electrical power. I have 12V at the battery and solenoid but only 3V at the starter ignition switch. The car turned over twice after installation and then went dead. The fuses look good and I have 12V power to the fuse block. This is a stock 65 tiger with generator. Any ideas where to look next.

Check points on the voltage regulator

I have only 3V going into the voltage regulator (Brown Wire). The wiring diagram looks like I should have 12V. I have 12V to the fuse block and I'm thinkng of running a wire from there to the vlotage regulator that feeds the starter ignition switch or just running a new brown wire from the starter solenoid.

ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS

MOST OF THE PROBLEMS WITH BRITISH CARS CAN BE TRACED TO DEFECTIVE GROUNDING. THE BATTERY GROUND AND THE ENGINE TO CHASSIS GROUND ARE TWO PLACES TO START.

I finally figured it out. Loose hot wire connection (Brown) on starter solenoid. I replaced it and tightened up and cleaned all the ignition switch connections. I guess 47 years is about all you get out of stock wiring.

I also had to replace the new MSD solenoid wire connection provided with the new starter, kept falling off.

I'm back on the road for know.

Thanks
Bernie

Good to hear you got it fixed. It's usually a loose wire or bad ground in these cars.
