Pro Stock racer from 1978. Wheelie bars removed in retirement from 1/4 mile. Now out to pasture in Lake Forest, CA.
 
It's a 60's thing...! lol

...I like the side vents but what are they venting at that low altitude...??

I wanna see a wheelie! I wonder how short the driveshaft is? I like the vents, but as others have said, they should be higher up.
 
NOT Photoshopped? :eek: And here we get all this grief over the Tiger's short wheelbase as it is, without the 1964-drag-car look.

I'd imagine that would intrude into the passenger compartment, etc., some. MAYBE didn't need the battery relocated... Don't know just from the one picture.

Must have been a fabrication nightmare; for instance, where to attach the springs?
 
When I first bought my Tiger after spark plug and an oil change or two I thought wouldn't it be nice to cut it length wise down the center and add in a extra foot of width.

This thread got the best of several of us. I know the car very well and other than the lower vents, its not a cut up tiger at all... somebody out there has some pretty good photoshop skills, and i should know, because im good at it too. funny.

The photoshoped pic appeared on the neet probaly close to 10 years back (maybe more?) so i assumed tha most people were just playing along :)
 
I was wondering. that was way before my time, even as a lurker on here and not saying much 10 years ago i didnt even have a Tiger ;)

Well, I had never seen the piece before and guessed that some tinwork talent had hacked & welded up a perfectly good Tigger . . . . . .

Thank's for the chatter about my car. (Rick, it is a MK I, # 1035.) When I had the wheels made in the early '90s I took a lot of pics. Sitting at the computer and looking at the one pic I couldn't resist so I changed the wheel base.
Oneoffive, how did you come across the pic ? I've only sent it to a couple friends.
Fun stuff, though. Wouldn't it be cool to take an Alpine shell and make an altered, complete with being tubbed, space frame, monster motor & everything ?
Sorry if I popped anyone's bubble. I found out about this thread yesterday since I just returned from the UK doing work at the Rootes Archive Centre Trust.
