I'm installing a generator on my car and I don't think I have the proper pulley.
What is the Tiger pulley diameter? Thanks :)

From the barn loft, original pulleys were 3" driven diameter with a 1/2" molded (stamped) space between the fan portion and the belt. I also found the racing pulley which is larger to reduce the geno's rpms for high revolution motors. If you need pics, send a PM. rw

Pulley

Hi,
Pictures would be nice, like they say picture are worth a 1000 words...
1/2 inch from the pulley to the fan eh, well that's what I have and I'm
still about 3/8 of an inch back. I guess I'll have to put a spacer block
between the bracket and the engine. Hope the generator doesn't hit the
water bottle. Thanks, Ying :)

This has been discussed here a lot. The odds are that your water pump hub is too far forward. I always use a good straight edge off the damper pulley to set things where they belong.

RE: Washer Bottle Clearance

Not sure how your washer bottle currently sits. I think a lot of people have them rotated forward so that they sit about 1/8 inch or so away from the side of the radiator. There is a picture of it sitting that way in a stock engine bay picture on page 131 of the 1967 "Performance Tuning the Tiger" book. Also, mine has suffered no apparent ill effects from being that close over the many decades.:)

PS: There is an assumption here that you have stock heads. With my aftermarket heads I found that I did have to shim the generator bracket about 1/4 inch forward.
