New to forum hope I am in right area.
I have removed and replaced my motor in my 1966 1a and in the process have lost my notes on the wiring for the generator. I have 4 wires in the harness. Another two in small harness one is the heat gauge sender and one must be the + wire for the coil.
The wires have been over sprayed with black paint making it more interesting.
I have the wiring diagram in an original work shop manual but does not show what I need, just shows two wires. (have not worked on one of these since 1975). Got my old car back in 2008 was gone for 27 years.
I also have an original parts listing and someone has made a note ,black wire engine side ,brown wire fender side. Which ones go on the back side? I assume they are talking about the ones on the top of the body of the unit.

I don't enjoy electrical work but here is how I read the wiring diagram I have----black wire is on the engine side (G post) and is a ground. The fender side of the generator (F post) will be the brown/green wire. The back of the gen (A post) will be brown/yellow. This is from a diagram I have for a Mk1A. I hope this helps and if I am wrong someone please speak up. Good luck.

Thank you for the quick info got me out the jam I was in.

Got the motor running and temp mufflers on until I get to muffler shop.
Still need to get brakes as has had no booster since 1978. With 300 plus ponies, 289 out of my 67 that is on the rotisserie. I want to be able to stop when the time comes. Got a booster from Victoria British so will have to bleed that Wednesday.
