Grill emblem

My car was missing the front grill emblem I just picked up a reproduction emblem
my question is what's the purpose of the 2 small metal clips inside the body where the emblems go?

If your repro has the two left & right detents for the friction clips, the clips can be used. If not, then use a good waterproof adhesive around the perimeter . DO NOT try and force the clips with a medallion that does not have the two notches.

Yeah that's pretty much what I thought no way it's going to work with the clips, Thanks for the response

I have a really nice original emblem if you'd rather have an original
