Sadly, it's looking as if finding and restoring a factory hard top is not something that I'm likely to be able do anytime soon.

SO: I've been considering selling all the hard top-related items I have, including the two rear window stainless steel pieces plus other ss trim.

I know these trim pieces are tough to find and mine are in great shape, still wrapped in the protective paper from when I had them polished at the time we restored the Tiger.

Can you guys kindly give me some idea what the stainless pieces are worth?

Thanks!

When someone needs them, they will pay whatever the asking. When a pack rat sees an opportunity, he will nibble to see if he can get lucky. Sooooo, ask what you want and leave it at that.

There was a collection of them on e-bay UK 3 months back.. 4 right and 3 left, all decent shape. The whole bunch went for approx $US 290ish IIRC... i was shocked.. assume buyer has a lot of hardtops to do.. or will slowly sell those surplus to requirements.

Rust belt

Seen em go as high as 400 and as low as 200. A fellow Tiger guy from th UK who bought some doors and a screen frame told me . "Sometimes that is all that's left a holy n crusty h/t frame dried rubber and Stainless Steel,
"
The Stainless easily survives as the top crumbles away.
It is too bad completed auctions only stay on e pay for 90 days.

stainless trim

I think Warren has it pegged pretty well, I bought a set on uk-ebay a few years ago and paid about $200 and thought I got a great deal.

trim

list them on ebay with a starting bid of 100.00 . you may be amazed at what you get for them.

Interested in "other" related items maybe

I have a complete roof, including S/S trim, but will be needing to replace / restore:

rubber seals
side corner windows
maybe some chrome latches
more tbd...

So... if you started gathering those items too... might help each other out. Sorry you've not had luck...

Thanks,

DD (CA)

Let me dig through my "collection." My car did have a HT when I purchased it (long time ago) but due to an unreliable "friend" I no longer have the top, just most of the pieces that were on it. The cost of restoring a top now is likely a bit much when factored into my budget for my other projects.
