Hardtop repair patch panels

I am attempting to restore the hardtop for my Tiger. It is rusty in all the usual places. Both lower rails and rear rail need to be replaced but the lower corners are repairable. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of a source for replacement panels? Anyone have a hardtop that is missing the hardware (since all of mine is good) that they would like to sell? This should be an easy project after all the fabrication that we had to do on the body but these are pretty intricate parts to fabricate.

It all man-hours after all

We put the Guru on the lower rails some years ago and decided no possible $$$ market $$$existed $$$ because of the time it took. I made the nasty "STOP" call, but the experiments are still in the loft somewhere.

Thanks Randy. I did a little research and Victoria British say the have the Lt and Rt lower rails but no rear. Radford in the UK on their website state they have all the parts but don't seem to return emails very well. Does anyone have experience with these parts from either source?

It's politics

Radford prefers pick-up orders rather than tedious international shipping. Vic Brit "Had" some of Mr Caron's rails at some point in time. They are both the same product source . . . . . . .

Alpine West Midlands Ltd used to list the rear, side and corner pieces in their online catalog. Not sure if this is the same source as "Radford" mentioned in your earlier post. If not, their website is www,sunbeam-alpine.co.uk and telephone is 01527 401498, per the catalog I printed out some time ago.

I have two old, very rusted shells I plan to try and rescue some day when I have nothing else to do. I am assembling parts on a catch as catch can basis. I bought one of the side rails and a corner patch from Victoria British a couple of years ago. The side rail does not have the little channel along the bottom that holds the sealing rubber that mates up to the car body. Also, the shaped area/pocket at the front where the B pillar clamp attaches is a bit shorter front to back that the same area on my shells. I recall thinking that it could probably be made to work, but is just not something I expected to see.

Hope some of that helps,

Gene
