Hardtop Side Window

Okay, stupid question here.

Has anyone ever tried to duplicate the "PERSPEX A.S.4." logo onto new hardtop side windows? Or maybe it wasn't on all hardtop windows.

I know it's probably idiotic to even think about it, but thought I'd ask while putting my hardtop back together. It'd be similar to having Pilkington etch the Triplex logo onto replacement glass. But maybe I'm wandering into correct air filter wing-NUT territory. I assume they used a heated metal stamp to do it. The rear panel is also marked on the lower left, from the inside, using a reverse stamp, at least on mine. The side windows are marked twice so it's readable from both the outside and inside, in case someone is sitting back there and wants to know what clear material they are looking through.

I understand that it's a six-sided nut to hold down the air cleaner and not a wing nut.
The letters for the window work basically raised ones. If you happen to see a 3.0 CSL BMW they are manufactured by the same Perspex mfg. I think they use a acid over a stencil on some modern windows. I guess it'd be a great try but then how would you deal with there AS1 and factory marking that is inside the glass captive between the two layers? That is what we want to replicate.
We had a guy who bought a member's business of a glass shop who has the mold for the glass back window of a hard top and told me he can make anything cuz he had a kiln and lots of pattern. He retired and sold the business and his tiger and the new owner really is only interested in working for the big buck movie cars. His point was The economy of scale demanded that you had to build 150 or more windshields to make it make sense.


My front screen has a 1970 USC parking permit and a NOX device sticker so I'm pretty interested in keeping it despite the slight windshield wiper scar...

Side Window Rubber Channel

Bought new plexiglass vent windows from SS, but looks like they don't have the U channel rubber to fit it into the aluminum frame.

Anyone have a source? Or something close that can be trimmed to work?

Perfect fit channel would be .260 wide, .260 tall, with inside width of .150 or 5/32".

Rick at SS does have the window glazing material, it's just not in the catalog.
