Harrington Tiger For Sale

IIRC this car is a Tiger with S3 Alpine rear wings and a Harrington top. So not a, or should i say "the" Harrington Tiger.

It's interesting that the car has been for sale about 3 times in the past 18 months.

I helped assemble the "real" Harrington back in the 80's when Bill showed it at Pebble Beach. He ended up taking it to the Monterey Auction in the mid 2000's and only got around $77k for it. He was very disappointed to say the least.
This line confuses me ......."The only known example using a genuine Sunbeam Tiger". Isn't the real one from a real Tiger??

I think what the seller is trying to clarify of the several "harrington" tiger conversions done since production of the real cars ended, this is the only one that used a Tiger as a base.. as opposed to the alger harringtons... it's not referencing the 1 and only... which live in Canada as I understand

didn't peter also build another car using an alpine and tiger running gear? If my old brain remembers right it was gold when I saw it at suni 1.

Doesn't seem like a bad price for such a pretty car. I have tried to drive a right hand drive car, tougher than it seems. I felt very uncoordinated. haha

RHD vs LHD

When I drove around Thailand & Ireland, the rotaries would keep me attentive. Other than that, the middle line is always supposed to be on the same side as the steering wheel. Shifting took a half-day's seat time to settle into the mind set. T'was fun .

I know where a LHD Harrington project is taking place and the owner is fussy with quality. Some parts sourcing has slowed the project, but it will happen and we expect to see it showing on the east coast not too far in the future.

randy,
the fun thing about RHD is the look on the face of the young lady at the McDonald's drive thru as you back thru. even better is when a car passes you and the passenger holds up the steering wheel from the passenger side. the wife already has a spare wheel to carry once our RHD Harrington is done.

Curly said,

"Here you drive," 3 Stooges epic comedy as he passed the wheel to Moe.
