Back to work on the Tiger. Heat wave coming so got a bit done.

Re-wrapped the header tube for #4 cylinder as it needed to be longer.

Wrapped the #3 as well leaving room on the bottom flat so it can slide into the collector. If I wrapped each tube to the collector it would be too thick for all the tubes to fit close enough together. The #4 is done most of the way as it's the one that brushes by the starter.

Added a heat shield around that tube as well. Ideally it should go around the starter, but maybe it will help a bit.

Added the expensive copper header gasket and bolted the 2 tubes on the motor.

That's it for today. Wrapping headers is a lot of work with the 1" wide roll but it looks nicer and with a couple of tight curves it's likely better then 2"

When doing exhaust on various cars there were many with headers wrapped like this which had the pipes burnt out/crystallized from excessive heat.

Steel headers can do this, not so much with stainless. Nothing to worry about in the grand scheme of things.
