Notice that one has 3 indentations for a webbing. Is the single strap one for a late car?

Yes they dropped the outer webs on the mkia/ sv alpine .. I know that cross body cars at least till mid production had the 3 straps still. Maybe it coincides with the introduction of velcro and removal of tension wires... Which is also sv/mkia

Webbing

They seemed to use a cotton or non synthetic fabric which was pretty good at absorbing water.
In the few I have one came off a round corner car. Don't recall seeing the webbed versions in the concourse training book. Since these cars have no headliner seems like an easily avoided ding on a early car.

I was wondering if the webbing loses the elasticity with age. Had a car with the original straps and they had gone brittle and felt like canvas but wondering if it had become like that with age and was originally like Pirelli webbing... Which would make sense as it can hold tension for the top.
