Help hardtop rear window trim clips

I am constantly having to reset the clips of my chrome trim surrounding the window on my hardtop. Can anyone give me a few pointers at how the clips fro Rick are to be installed??? They do not hold trim in place. Let me know if there is a better way???? Im tempted to just glue them on.

Way back when I used a small amount of clear silicone to make it stay in place. There might be a better way nowadays.

You may try 2 drips of transparent superglue instead...

I drilled a hole in the ends of the trim pieces, installed and then safety wired them together.....then I installed the clips over the safety wire and secured them with epoxy. You will never see my trim laying on the side of the road.
