Good call on that Michael. Our local Cobra parts fabricator, Nick Acton, found the pic in some of his Shelby history. Nick is an NZ transplant by the way; chanting Maori in our frozen Nor'east gets a bit strange . . . . . .

Guessed Wrong

I thought it was a very early Sunbeam prototype loading up in Bournemouth for D-Day.

hey Randy, nice to see some southern hemisphere input.. NZ'er John Olsen worked on the early cobras.. then built approved FIA replicas in the early 90's in NZ.

Its a great pic.. a larger copy would be nice.

If you could get Nick to make a scan, I'd like to pass it on to Don Sesslar (driver). (I'll be happy to toss in some $$$.

That picture was taken in either late November or December of 1964. Most likely it's loading in Florida on the way to the race. (no body damage to the RF.)

Hi Randy, this is from Dave Friedman's flicker albums. They are online here http://www.flickr.com/photos/thehenryford/collections/72157628488413505/

I just dutifully saved the link, I know I’d be there till 2 a.m. if I started in over there!

Your man did well it was indeed Nassau speed week. If you have something you want originals of I can ask Dave, he’s a FB friend.

I saw Ollie's coupe at Laguna Seca in August.

Luckily I’m relieving myself of the convict colony status as I’ve just done my US citizenship application.
Cheers mate.
