I was just looking on Amazon for a color version of Mike Taylor's Alpine/Tiger book. Along the way I stumbled on a page for Bill Carroll's book. The asking price was $1500!

I guess a seller can ask any price. If there's somebody out there that really needs one, I'll gladly part with a slightly used version for only half Amazon's price. Heck, for that price I'll throw in a brand new one as well.

There is an old saying, "A fool and his money are soon parted".

This is nothing new in the Tiger world. Going back a few years (back when Ebay allowed you to email bidders) I watched an auction for a Tiger part that was available new as the price went far above retail. Before it ended I let the high bidder know where he could buy it at retail price. He replied back that he had no idea that there were Sunbeam parts vendors!

Some people are just clueless.

The price would be right in line if the title were "The Book of Bill".

real

it's real! we just spent the day at the carlisle import. there are some fairly high priced NOS sunbeam items for sale. nothing i don't already have but they would be making a bunch of profit when they sell. there is also used parts for sale at a high profit margin. it's the american way. make a profit!

Not everyone is PT Barnum

At my last big swap meet the big 3 in San Diego, sellers when asked how much ? could only feverishly consult their smart phones as I walked away as they grumbled I'm not ready.

Not many worms even for the early bird:(

But I am not going to give up!
