Looking for a good pair of MKII headlight rims to fit and paint on a MKII restoration nearing completion of body work.

Willing to make a trade - Tell me what you need.
Or if you have a pair but are wishing you had chrome, I have what you need.
A NOS (never mounted and still in Lucas boxes with wax paper wrap and the mounting screw w/ felt washer) - 0ne pair of chrome, peaked at the top headlight rims. I don't believe these are actually MKII rims (I don't think any MKII's came from the factory with chrome headlight rims - please correct me if I am wrong). The number on these are FR1 556269 BS 1004 A I think there was talk on this forum that these are from a Hillman Husky but the same model was used for the non-chromed MKII headlight rims.

Let me know if you have a pair you are willing to sell or trade.

Thanks,

John

John,

You are correct that the mkii used painted versions of the non peaked rims.

The chrome ones were on '59 husky wagons and series I singer gazelles.

They were also offered for use on many series I amd II alpine race cars.

You could probably have your chrome ones stripped and painted... But being nos chrome that would be a shame.

Also with sunbeam headlight rims be careful on second hand ones that they haven't been over tightened at the screw as it bends the rims out of shape.

Have you found a pair of rings ?
I have a pair but paid too much for them and want too much for them !

Mk2 headlight rims

I seem to remember that there were several sets available in La Crosse last week. I think the asking price was about $125 each.

I believe I saw both the correct as well as the chromed styles.

Eric G might remember who was selling them.

Bargain at 125 each

Bought em at 400 a set and sold them for same and even a little more. Like most things I regret or end up wanting a spare set. If there is anything else you need I like to horse trade.
