I'm doing some research on the prototype Tiger that was constructed at Shelby American. I've seen some old photos and they really help tell the story. Does anyone have any old photos of the car...specifically the engine compartment? I'm talking about photos from the 60's, 70's, and 80's if possibly. Jim Leach sent me some photos from Tigers United 4 and I have some from Alan Kuhn from 1964. Any pictures you have will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Doug

As the story goes

from Inside Shelby American but I'm certain you know this part of the story...

Slim pickens perhaps...

Ask George if it started out life Blue-ish or a darker color... Or was that the other Alpine project?

The other car in the background is the Ken Miles car. The lady is sittlng in the Shelby car.

The chubby expansion tank and high speed pulley are noted.

And the generator driven tach. All similar to early Cobra components including the
generator bracket. Cal Custom air cleaner is a nice touch.

Was able to find a number of pictures of that car under knife at SA. BUT no white.

I don't recall if it was this or the Ken Miles prototype, but I remember reading the article in the Shelby American Club magazine when it was found and identified. I was about 12 at the time.

Here's one I stumbled on.

J.D.

Thanks J.D. This is exactly the kind of photo I'd like to see. If you have a higher resolution photo of this please send it to me directly. Among other things I'd like to see a good shot of that little black tag by the VIN plate. It's a Shelby American tag that reads SAS and unfortunately was taken as a souvenir. I'd like to find one or have it reproduced to put back on the car.

Thanks again for the photo.

Thanks for the video. All of this helps put the pieces together.
