Monterey Reunion

We've received an OK for the Tiger group photo to switch to FRIDAY evening instead of Thursday as had been previously mentioned. Tigers should assemble in the Tiger car corral by 4PM. We expect to hear more details from SCRAMP in the upcoming days.

The week's schedule (in the California events section) can be found by following this link:

Here's what I've received from Mike Michels:

Good news, I have been advised that our photo shoot on track at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion will be from 5-5:30 on Friday, August 15. The plan is basically the same as previously described, but Friday is much better because we are likely to get a better turnout and the special Tiger Corral is open that day, making it much easier to get organized prior to moving to the start finish line.

So all street tigers should be in the corral no later than 4 pm that day. A reminder that a Corral parking pass (a screaming deal at $25) is required and of course, general admission for that day of racing. We will need to work quickly and therefore will assign grid positions by lottery, so we don’t have to sort this out on the track. I am waiting for a few more details, on how we will move from the Corral to the paddock and then onto the track, but will pass those along as they are available.

Please pass the word along to everyone who might be going to Monterey for the weekend. These photos will definitely be keepers.

if mine is on the trailer, then where...

should I park?....

sigh... anyway... I wish that Ti could make this picture. Coming to terms with this being an impossibility.

I encourage any of you on the fence to DO THIS. Will be a memorable and lifetime picture keepsake. With Auto Union as the featured marque years ago, hundreds of audi fans descended on the track, and frankly, the parade laps were great...but having THAT picture... would be a thrill...

Planning to be around Thursday and Friday, so this works great for me too. Thanks to all that are arranging the special events.

Rather than a simple lottery, I might suggest three (3) columns, MKI, MKIA and MKII behind the racers horizontally, and then a lottery for position (depth to rear) in the column. That way you'd ensure seeing the featured racers in front, backed by series from left to right. But, with 50+ cars... you'll be plenty challenged.

Look forward to meeting all of you soon,

Derek Daily
