My new Tiger

I first learned about Tigers in the late 1980's and I've been obsessed since. Knowing my obsession, my wife has given me many Tiger related gifts over the years. Johnny Lightning toys didn't scratch the itch though. I've been looking for the right one to own for years. It seems as though the market consists of basket cases or jewels. I finally found one that is rust and collision free, though it is missing a lot of the original parts and is in general need of freshening. I contacted Norm Miller who very kindly reported the history and took a look at some of the online photos. It took several weeks to come to an agreement on price, but today it happened - I now own a 1966 Mark 1A and I couldn't be happier! It has been "race prepped" though it doesn't have a roll bar. I'll be slowly returning it to stock and will be in need of the same bits and pieces as a lot of other folks - air cleaner, expansion tank, steering wheel, etc..

The only problem is that here in Omaha we have wet salty roads right now so I'll just sit in it and make engine noises when it is delivered on Monday.

Excellent

Is that a four eyed Ranchero:)

Don't be a tease post up some pics and you may be amazed how our members may have some more info on your beast.

I think your parts list is easy to fill too. Welcome

Looks real nice --- BTW what is that white stuff on the ground?

Cheers and have fun

Congrats! Looks like it has a nice 'stance' ... lowered in front ?
looking forward to more pics and details ;)

Curious that 2 new purchases are posted on the forum this week and they both appear to have the Carroll Shelby mini europa wheels

So.. Here is what I know of my first Sunbeam Tiger. The car was originally purchased in Ohio based on a dealer sticker pasted in the trunk. From 1995 to around 2001 this car was in Savannah Georgia and belonged to a doctor who enjoyed racing. It was then sold to someone here in Omaha who owned it until this past week. I have the names of these two previous owners and I plan on contacting them to find any additional history (particularly pre-1995). Who knows - one of them might have the original 260 sitting behind a shed or something.

If anyone has a restorable original steering wheel just lying around or has any more info on B382002234 LRXFE please let me know.

Warren - yes, that is a four eyed Ranchero which will likely go up for sale soon after I finish the paint and body work. Go figure - My CA black plate Ranchero from Torrance (yep) has more rust than my Tiger from Omaha. I see you are from South Torrance. I'm a former West Torrance High grad - go Warriors!

Looks like you got yourself a nice Tiger there, and hopefully winter will go easy on you so you can enjoy the car a little. I like it in the hot rod black, a nice change. It would look good with a red interior now. Have fun with it.
